During Year 1 you will focus on:

During Year 2, 3 and 4 of the course you will explore:

You will be introduced to the fundamental principles of academic practice, developing your communication, critical thinking and research skills.

In your second year, you will be introduced to the fundamentals of digital marketing, as well as experimenting with photography, video, podcasting, website design and copywriting.

You'll be introduced to the principles of graphic design and how it relates to branding. You'll also look at how search engine optimisation (SEO) techniques can be used to enable an audience can find their desired content. 

You will also explore the legal and ethics of the digital world, consumer psychology, and begin to pitch for work with clients.

In third year, learners will build on their skills from their first year and take a deeper dive into social media marketing and how to can develop a strategy for a brand.

You'll explore more advanced video production techniques, including motion graphics and animation, to enhance your storytelling skills. You'll apply user research and use design skills to create a prototype of an app.

Throughout your third year, you'll be working on building your professional connections, as well as keeping up with industry news and changes. You will undertake an invaluable work-based learning opportunity which will further support your skillset and provide you with real-world knowledge of the industry.

Your fourth year will be focused on bringing the best of your skills together and getting them ready for life beyond Ravensbourne.

You will respond to client and/or competition briefs and work collaboratively with your peers. You will prepare your portfolio; showcasing the best of your creations, boosting your employability and demonstrating clearly that you are industry-ready upon graduation.

In your final semester, you will research and analyse an aspect of the future of digital landscape – a future that you will have a hand in shaping. As well as this, you will plan a creative marketing strategy which is informed by audience insights, market analysis and your own production skills, and then you will bring it to life.

Modules may include:

• Planning, Strategy and Creation
• The Future of the Digital Landscape

At Ravensbourne we accept a wide range of qualifications for entry onto our courses, whilst also considering the context in which they were achieved. For this course, we would usually require a GCSE Grade 4 or above in English in addition to any of the below;

• Two A Levels at grade DD or above
• BTEC Extended Diploma at grade PPP
• UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma
• T Level (pass or above)
• Access to Higher Education Diploma
• International Baccalaureate at grade 24 or above
• Other/Mixed qualifications equivalent to 48 UCAS Tariff points

Selection criteria:

Students should ideally have a background in art, creative media, or design.

There are no interview or portfolio requirements for this course.
