If you are studying the BA (Hons) Digital Content Creation with Integrated Foundation Year version of this course, key topics of your integrated foundation year will include:

• Utilisation of digital labs, photography studios, broadcasting, and multimedia facilities

If you choose to add an Integrated Foundation Year on this course, you will be first introduced to the fundamental principles of design. Your foundation year gives you the time, space and support to explore your strengths, build confidence and prepare for the demands of project-based, industry-focused learning. Modules are as follows*:

• Module 1: Diagnostic exploration - making informed choices
• Module 2: Technical - Technical knowledge in practice
• Module 3: Specialist - Innovating specialist practice
• Module 4: Integration - Integrated practice for progression to Higher Education

In the first year, you'll learn the basics of digital marketing and experiment with photography, video, podcasting, web design, and copywriting.

You’ll explore graphic design principles, branding, and SEO techniques to help audiences find content. You'll also study digital ethics, consumer psychology, and start pitching to clients.

In your second year, you'll deepen your skills in social media marketing and brand strategy.

You’ll explore advanced video production, including motion graphics and animation, and apply user research to design an app prototype.

You’ll also focus on building professional connections, staying updated on industry trends, and gain hands-on experience through a work-based learning opportunity.

In your third year, you'll refine your skills and prepare for life after Ravensbourne by responding to client and competition briefs and collaborating with peers.

You’ll build a portfolio that highlights your best work, boosting your employability and showing you’re industry-ready.

In your final semester, you'll research the future of the digital landscape and develop a creative marketing strategy, informed by audience insights and market analysis, then bring it to life.

At Ravensbourne we accept a wide range of qualifications for entry onto our courses, whilst also considering the context in which they were achieved. For this course, we would usually require a GCSE Grade 4 or above in English in addition to any of the below;

• Two A Levels at grade CC or above
• BTEC Extended Diploma at grade MPP
• UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma
• T Level (pass or above)
• Access to Higher Education Diploma
• International Baccalaureate at grade 24 or above
• Other/Mixed qualifications equivalent to 64 UCAS Tariff points

Interview and portfolio requirements

Admission onto this course is also subject to successful completion of a portfolio (or showreel). 

If you wish to study our BA (Hons) Digital Content Creation degree course, we will need to see examples of previous of digital media and/or design work that showcases your suitability for the course.
