Understanding sexual misconduct investigations
Ravensbourne wants all students and staff to be able to understand what may happen during a sexual misconduct investigation. This section helps to outline this. A chart is also available to help guide you through the steps that will be followed:
Chart A – Sexual misconduct process
Both those who raise concerns and any member of the Ravensbourne community they raise concerns about are supported through the complaints and disciplinary processes.
Members of the Ravensbourne wellbeing team, including trained Sexual Violence Liaison Officers (SVLOs) are in place to help students through what may be a difficult process.
When a concern is raised
When a complaint or concern is first raised that concerns sexual misconduct this will be passed to either the student or staff misconduct process. In both cases the Head of Student Services will be made aware to offer support, safeguarding assessments and for complaints against students to lead to initial investigation.
