Biography
Professor Chi Maher is Professor of Public Policy, Entrepreneurship & Human Resource Management.
She has over 25 years of international experience across industry and academia. Her career spans organisational leadership, team management and teaching across levels 4 to 7, in addition to supervising doctoral students.
Professor Maher is deeply motivated by a commitment to scaffolding learning for students from diverse backgrounds and with varied prior educational experiences, helping them achieve academic and personal success.

Leadership
In her roles as a Non-Executive Director of the NHS, Director of Social Enterprise Knowledge Exchange Network, and an academic leader, Professor Maher has consistently championed the integration of research and knowledge exchange into practice. Her efforts have delivered tangible benefits to students, fellow academics, organisations, and communities across the UK and globally. She is also a recipient of the West Focus Enterprising Business Award.
Whether she is advising organisations, mentoring students or shaping public policy through research, Professor Maher’s mission is to bridge the gap between academia and action. This ensures that every study, every partnership, and every initiative leaves a lasting legacy.

A firm believer in the power of knowledge exchange, she has cultivated impactful partnerships with organisations across the public, private, and third sectors. Each collaboration has been unique but unified by a shared focus on generating impact.

She has authored several books, and more than thirty articles published in national and international scientific journals, as well as by global academic publishers. Her research spans a wide array of themes including social entrepreneurship, public policy, human resource management, and business strategy.
