The Travel Show (1998)

Concept and creative process

Titles for a live magazine programme with travel tips, weather news and bargain holidays. This title sequence was created with a series of beautifully art-directed model set-ups, designed to inspire the audience with thoughts of holidays to come in faraway exotic destinations. The models were made of thin white cardboard, cut and assembled to create many famous international travel icons all juxtaposed with one another in no logical order. The camera movement highlighted individual icons by pulling focus as it panned and tracked over each multiplane model set. The sequences were filmed on a motion-controlled camera rig in a studio and composited to the music in a digital edit in post-production.
