Trail of Guilt (1999)

Concept and creative process

'Trail of Guilt' was a programme of dramatised crime reconstructions. The title sequence graphically symbolised the complex trail of ‘guilt’ that is uncovered during the course of a crime investigation. The trail intersected and diverged, eventually leading to a significant pool which becomes the programme logo. Kevin Hill drew the trails on large pieces of paper, which were then filmed at the BBC rostrum camera unit and transferred to digital video. He then edited and layered the footage on Quantel Hal.
