Television's Greatest Hits (1998)

Concept and creative process

Gaby Roslin hosts a programme that showcases the best of BBC television output. The title sequence trails some of these much-lauded programmes in clips shown in a variety of everyday situations like a bus shelter or a park bandstand, in which the background action is speeded up almost to the point of being a blur, with the clip and the person interacting with it moving at normal speed. The finished sequence was achieved in a digital edit, with the programme title resolving on a television set in a domestic setting.
