Concept and creative process
Titles for a series for independent travellers presented by Edith Bowman and Dimitri Doganis. The main feature of the title sequence was a metal globe of the world’s latitude and longtitude lines with the main land masses cut-out and bolted on as metallic shapes with additional texturing of the areas that the ‘Rough Guide’ series would be featuring in the series. The globe was constructed out of cut-out metal sheets bolted or tied with wire to the supporting structure. In post-production additional live action programme footage was matted and layered onto relevant areas of the land. The final ‘Rough Guide’ logo scene was also added in post-production for each programme separately.
