Omnibus (1975)

Concept and creative process

Opening titles for the long-running arts documentary strand ‘Omnibus’ which aired from 1967 until 2003. The titles needed to capture the spirit of an arts series without being specific to any one art form. The target audience was all ages with an interest in the arts.
Bob Blagden’s concept was to give the titles a cinematic 'neon’ space look where the logo paid homage to the classic film studio logos that were an essential prelude to the movie proper. Executed in 2D wireframe computer animation, the logo animated around the globe beaming out its message to the world.
