Concept and creative process
Opening titles for a drama about the life of the French novelist, George Sand, who was notorious for her private behaviour and her political beliefs. The photograph used in the title sequence was shot by Mike Sanders on location at Sand’s house in Nohant-Vic in the Indre department of France. The credits and the photographic still of the house and garden were filmed together on a 35mm rostrum camera. The timing of the shot was perfectly synced to the music and the typography elegantly designed.
