Concept and creative process
The title sequence for a Francis Durbridge murder drama mystery series was created by designer Bernard Lodge with economical means. Without revealing anything, the murder mystery is hinted at by the use of several images - a corpse, a zoom out from an extreme close-up of an eye, and entwined hands that dissolve through from a monochrome negative of a mouth, all linked by live action whip pans in horizontal and vertical directions and choreographed to the title music.
