Concept and creative process
Titles for ‘Esther’, a twice-weekly chat show with audience participation, hosted by Esther Rantzen. Pat Gavin played with quotes that summarised the emotions, concerns and attitudes shared by Esther in conversation with her guests and the audience. The sequence was created in a multi-layered digital edit over a rhythmically alternating background of a black screen and monochrome stills of Esther interacting with her audience. The typographic layers were continuous throughout the sequence, animated at different scales and in different colours in a well-choreographed and elegant solution.
