Cartoon World (1974)

Concept and creative process

Each year the newest and best cartoon films from all over the world were brought together and shown at an International Festival of Animated Films. Cartoonist Gerald Scarfe introduced some of the films he saw at the festival. The photographic backgrounds were specially set up and shot to create a range of amusing possibilities for interaction with an animated character. The animation was by Barry Merritt and a great soundtrack was created to complement the action.
