Mark is the Senior Lecturer in Sound Design on the Music and Sound Design BA (Hons) course at Ravensbourne. He leads the units on the course that focus on interactive audio, experimental sound practice and interdisciplinary sound practice and composition.
Prior to joining Ravensbourne as a lecturer, Mark studied on the BA (Hons) Sound Design course at Ravensbourne as a student, and the Interactive Media Practice MA at Westminster University. As a professional sound designer he has worked at EA games studios and for indie games developers. Alongside his interactive media work he has edited and mixed a range of films, from commercial releases through to experimental shorts and features, and has designed and installed work in museums and galleries.
As a researcher, Mark has developed practice based projects that explore experimental instrument design and approaches for spatial audio design. He has worked collaboratively with researchers at the World Soundscape Centre, developing software for soundscape research, and has created multi-channel work that blends generative music with an augmented reality particle visualisation.
