Concept and creative process
The title sequence for the biennial BBC competition to find the most talented young musician in classical or contemporary music, played on woodwind, brass, piano or strings. Close-up live action musical performances were given colour, monochrome and negative rendering through the medium of torn paper mattes. Typography and musical notation added a further layer of complexity to this elegant and youthful solution.
