Wogan (1989)

Concept and creative process

Titles for a chat show, hosted by Terry Wogan, featuring live studio interviews with famous and notable personalities. This sequence was created with early computer-generated animation. Each of the fragmented elements are frames featuring talking guests. Although it appears normal now to our eyes, this was one of the first computer animation sequences to utilise motion blur software to simulate the way that motion is captured by film. As a result the render time per frame was very long which lead to a last-minute dash to Television Centre to deliver the sequence minutes before it went to live transmission.
