Concept and creative process

Opening titles for a Welsh investigative current affairs series, looking at people, places and events in Wales and beyond. The series title was composed as a typographic logo and filmed entirely in-camera on a rostrum camera, in a series of jump cuts from wide shot to extreme close-up, with an overall red colour filter. It was intercut with a similar series of colour-filtered cuts in on a crowd of workers, ending on a single face. A series of colour-filtered photographs followed wiping vertically and horizontally from one to another, culminating in a ‘W’ shaped wipe to the programme logo, which jumped into close-up in a series of moves synced to the drum beat on the title music.
