Concept and creative process

Titles for a programme in which viewers were given the opportunity to meet the programme makers and discuss with them their responses to their programmes. Designer Christine Buttner (now Green) filmed close-ups of colleagues from the BBC Graphic Design Department for the shoot, including herself and Douglas Adamson the cameraman. Shot against a black background, a variety of TV images such as logos, channel Idents and programme clips were projected from 35mm slides onto the faces, cutting from one to the next. The camera trackout, revealing a stylised animated graphic TV set displaying the faces, and the programme logo animation were all composited in post-production.
