Titles for ‘This Life’, a cult drama series about a group of aspiring young lawyers sharing a shabby house in London, which charted their careers and personal lives. For the title sequence Liquid TV Graphics created the programme logo from a typeset version of ‘THIS’, enlarged to the point of breaking up. A hand drawn version of ‘life’ was added to the other characters in discrete sections, separated by black and filmed on a rostrum camera in extreme close-up. A wide shot revealed the whole logo, followed by the subtitle and writer’s credits, also made in the same hand drawn style. It was a quirky solution which perfectly suited the style of the programme.
