Concept and creative process
David Vine and Ron Pickering introduced the sporting superstars competition for boys from different sporting backgrounds. Events included canoeing, swimming, cycling, weightlifting, basketball & running. A pixelated animated countdown established the ‘Superstars’ logo and set the style for the treatment of the live action sequences that followed, before linking back to the ‘S’ logo for the programme title.
