Concept and creative process
As the city of Liverpool descends into darkness, we journey through a disturbing, distorted reality. Nic Benns spent a night on the road shooting locations and time-lapse elements before compositing them with light and lens refraction effects. Organic materials and glass were layered to create optical distortion and the effect of tearing membranes. The title music was composed, performed and specially mixed by Tricky. The show was titled ‘Savage’ in the USA.
