Concept and creative process
Victorian tin toys and their repetitive actions, depicting the drudgery of everyday life, were used as a visual metaphor to set the scene in this title sequence for the drama series 'Esther Waters', the story of the eponymous kitchen maid, her life and loves. The tin toys were shot live action with titles superimposed as a film optical.
