Concept and creative process
Titles for a comedy series starring Mel Smith as Colin Watkins, a railway administrator with aspirations to become a writer of the horror fiction genre. The titles were made up of a series of stills of Mel Smith’s eyes and facial expressions, cut out and framed against a white background above the title lettering and jump cut in sync to the rondo from Mozart’s Horn Concert No.4 in E-Flat Major III. The stills and titles were filmed on a rostrum and captured directly in-camera.
