Concept and creative process
Tiles for a series of programmes about life in our cities. The bold slab serif lettering of the programme title was used as a device to wipe between production shots of the urban environment and life. Mattes and masters of the individual letters were filmed on a rostrum camera with camera moves and used in the film laboratory to make the film optical transitions between the live action scenes.
