Captain Abercromby (2002)

Concept and creative process

A puppetry series about a young boy who in his sleep becomes Captain Abercromby, the captain of a candyfloss boat. Created by John Gorman and produced by Doug Williams, Ken Anderson, Dominique Middleton for CBBC, the show was made by stop motion puppet animation. The titles followed the same minute long formula on each episode, with the stop motion bed-time conversation between the boy and his grandfather, followed by the CGI dream sequence and song animated in 3D CGI by Pictures on the Wall.
