Concept and creative process
This ident was created for use before a series of programmes about prisons. I had tried to use light coming through a window before as a device for animating the '2', but this was the perfect solution given the subject matter. The '2' was created using a simple gobo, physically animated in front of the light source, so that everything was captured in-camera. Unfortunately, when it came to the shoot, the bed in the cell was too big and out of proportion, so we reduced the size of it in post-production.
