Alfonso Bonzo (1990)

Concept and creative process

‘Alfonso Bonzo‘ was a six-part comedy drama series for children about a boy with amazing swapping powers. The titles had a very small budget, so a simple sequence was designed to the upbeat jaunty title music and consisted of animated stars and mysterious symbols, which resolved into a programme logo set in a triangular pattern of animated lights. The separate frames were prepared on a Quantel Paintbox as animation and then taken into post-production, where the elements were assembled and composited with the live-action background on Quantel Harry by Dave Farlie, the Graphic Design editor.
