Top salaries for our creative graduates

When it comes to creative graduate salaries, Ravensbourne is the number one specialist university in the UK, and is in the top 10 of all institutions in England*

There is also a growing demand for the creative talents of our students from the digital, engineering and technical industries, which reflects the huge growth of the creative industries over recent years (30% between 2012 and 2016).

These results reflect the fact that at Ravensbourne University London, students are professional creatives from the day they join us. We work in close partnership with employers to foster the mindsets and skillsets that the creative industries need.

Our winning formula also ensures an extremely high post-graduation employment rate. In 2017, 96.4% of students were in work six months after graduating.

The National Student Survey (NSS) results for 2019 have been published on the Office for Students website. Our overall satisfaction rate sits at 68 percent.

We are obviously extremely disappointed with this result and recognise the outcome shows we have significant work to do to improve our approval ratings among students. We take their feedback extremely seriously and will be working closely with them over the coming academic year to make improvements based on their feedback.

Ravensbourne has been through a period of significant change in the last 12 months, following our receipt of university title. Major changes include the restructuring of our academic and professional services teams and the launch of our new curriculum, which for the past year has been run in parallel with the UAL syllabus our graduating students enrolled on. We recognise the challenges these transitions have caused and want to reassure you that we are taking action. At the beginning of the academic year we identified a number of the most pressing concerns for students, and this was a key reasoning behind restructuring the organisation in the way we have.

Within these results, it’s important to acknowledge a number of courses have achieved significant improvements in terms of satisfaction rates and we will be looking to build on those successes. The BA (Hons) Animation and BA (Hons) Fashion Buying and Brand Management courses both saw a satisfaction rate of 94% and BA (Hons) Design Products saw a satisfaction rate of 90%.

More generally, our graduates remain among the most sought-after in the creative industries with an impressive graduate employment rate of 96.4 percent*. We are the top-ranked specialist university for graduate salaries in the field of creative art and design, an accolade we are immensely proud**.

The student experience is at the heart of a renewed set of institutional priorities and focus.

Over the coming academic year, we will be striving to work even more closely with our students to ensure they receive the exceptional experience they expect from us. We remain committed to their success, providing practical-learning experiences and a close connection with industry that few other educational institutions offer.

As this academic year comes to a close and we begin planning for the next, we are confident we will begin to see the benefits of the changes that have been made over the past year.
