Ravensbourne University London students win multiple D&AD New Blood Awards

Publication date:

Students from the Advertising and Brand Design course at Ravensbourne University London have once again been recognised at the prestigious D&AD New Blood Awards, securing multiple coveted New Blood Pencils for their innovative and socially-conscious campaigns.

The D&AD New Blood Awards is a globally recognised competition celebrating emerging creative talent in advertising, design and related disciplines. Each year, more than 6,000 entries from leading institutions around the world compete for the iconic pencil-shaped trophy, widely regarded as one of the industry’s most respected accolades for young creatives.

This year, Ravensbourne students were recognised for their responses to industry-set briefs from Tuborg and giffgaff x Big Issue.

Winning campaigns

Better Unbottled – Tuborg

Jordan Wynter, Matilda Olsson and Lucy D’Amato received a D&AD New Blood Pencil for Better Unbottled, a campaign designed for Tuborg that transforms workplace frustrations into music.

The concept centres around ‘The Borg’, a digital platform accessed through QR codes on packaging and in-store displays. Users can record voice notes venting about their day, which are then transformed into shareable songs. By turning bottled-up frustrations into playful self-expression, the campaign positions Tuborg as a brand that encourages creativity and connection.

The Second Network – Giffgaff x Big Issue

Diana Jablonskaite, Shirley Yip and Harvey Stroud were recognised for The Second Network, a campaign created in response to a brief from Giffgaff and Big Issue.

The project addresses the challenges faced by young people experiencing poverty, many of whom become trapped in cycles of short-term employment. The Second Network is a community-driven mentorship platform designed to help young people build professional connections, gain guidance and access long-term career opportunities.

The campaign seeks to reposition networking as a more accessible and inclusive tool for social mobility, turning connections into meaningful opportunities for the next generation.
