Laura completed a BA (Hons) Fine Art degree at Nottingham Trent University. She worked on fashion show production at Vauxhall Fashion Scout and secured a work placement at the Stella McCartney press office. It was here that she found her calling in fashion and specifically in Visual Merchandising.
Laura's industry expertise is in British luxury fashion; after a stint on the Stella McCartney visual merchandising (VM) team, she spent nine years working for Mulberry as a Creative Visual Merchandiser. During this time she ran visual merchandising projects and 3D campaigns, designed window schemes and branded event spaces. She currently consults for smaller fashion and beauty brands such as Harrys of London and Fitflop and Neom, helping them hone their retail spaces and VM strategies.
Over the last decade Laura has been invited to lecture sessionally on visual merchandising techniques at Ravensbourne and University for the Creative Arts (UCA). She specialises in helping students to be entrepreneurial and imaginative.
Laura brings to the Fashion Buying and Brand Management a wide range of international contacts across visual merchandising, marketing, branding, press, buying and merchandising, production and copywriting. She has recently completed a PGCE and has become an Associate Fellow of the HEA. Her passion lies in creating inclusive learning environments and developing a positive mentor approach to teaching.
