Curtis Hawes BSc (Hons), PGCE, MA

Biography

Curtis is an experienced gaming developer and lectures on the Games Design, Games Programming and Games Development courses at Ravensbourne University London.

He is also a Unreal Authorised Instructor and holds a PGCE, BSc (Hons) in Digital Games Production and achieved an MA in Indie Games Development (with Distinction) from the University of Falmouth. Over the past seven years, Curtis has been teaching video game design and computing across both further and higher education.

Alongside his academic career, Curtis founded the indie game studio Adversity Interactive, where he collaborates with a small but passionate team to create meaningful horror driven interactive narratives using Unreal Engine 5. With his latest game Isle of Leil available on Steam.

Curtis brings a broad range of expertise across game design, development, and programming. With a strong computing background, he specializes in Unreal Blueprints, C++, and the business and management aspects of the games industry. His experience also includes pitching to AAA publishers, managing projects and working in emerging technologies such as AR and VR.
