Wizbit (1989)

Concept and creative process

Titles for ‘Wizbit’, a children's series featuring Paul Daniels, about a magical land called Puzzleopolis which was dominated by evil Professor Doom, who lived in a castle perched on a stone fist overshadowing the land. The title sequence used a model of the town, with the castle in evidence towering above it in the background. A video effects pyramid flew in overhead, displaying video clips of the characters from the stories on its facets as it tumbled and rotated away. The model was replaced by a graphic representation of the castle and Wizbit animated in to form the programme logo, keyed over the background using chromakey.
