Why Don't You...? (1984)

Concept and creative process

Opening titles for ‘Why Don’t You…?’, a series presented by children who suggested ideas for activities and interests for other kids to do as an alternative to watching TV. The opening title sequence was a cartoon animation of the title song performed by children’s choir, intercut with the programme logo and a piano playing TV on legs. It was filmed on a rostrum camera and reprised the animation of a child viewer putting his boot through the TV screen.
