Titles for a drama serial of K.M. Peyton's novel, adapted for television by Jenny McDade. Sarah Dewis’s live action titles reflected the attitudes of the bunch of ‘no-hopers’ who their teacher wanted to endow with ambition and sporting prowess. He groomed them into a team which entered a sporting competition against the ‘rich kids’ of a private school and, thanks to the combined efforts of teachers, parents and pupils, and against their initial expectations, the team emerged the winners.
