Ground-breaking special effects illustrated the drama of human evolution as Professor Robert Winston examined the world of the prehistoric ancestors of modern-day humans in his series ‘Walking with Cavemen’. The title sequence contained a selection of scenes from the production, depicting the use of archaeological remains, 3D animation, animatronics and actors to reconstruct how our ancestors would have looked. The whole montage was digitally edited and overlaid with a screen-filling close-up pan over the lettering of the programme title.
