Concept and creative process

Opening titles for of an adaptation of R.L. Stevenson's famous tale of pirate gold & skulduggery on the high seas. The title sequence consisted of production shots of the ship ‘Hispaniola’ under sail and the whole piratic ambience of violence, buried treasure and the map of Treasure Island, on which a cross marked the spot where the treasure was to be found. The credit titles were filmed on a rostrum camera and superimposed over the map and the island location shots in a film optical.
