Concept and creative process
In the title sequence of 'The Third Age' documentary series, for viewers between the ages of 50 and 74, longevity, vibrancy and freedom are symbolised by the Macaw parrot, which can live to 100 years old. The parrot was shot against green screen then superimposed in post-production onto a giant fountain (made of painted polystyrene).
