Techno (1996)

Concept and creative process

Titles for ‘Techno’, a design and technology magazine series for schools and colleges aimed at the 11-14 age group. This imaginative and inventive sequence demonstrated the design and building of a model of the programme logo, from a ‘back of an envelope’ concept, to technical drawings, blueprints and the construction from the ground up. All kinds of materials were used to create and clad the structure and the whole process was captured in stop-frame animation in a small studio set-up. The finished logo finally revolved 180 degrees to a close-up view of the H, a still of which became the background for a further animation of the episode title, in this instance ‘FOOD’.
