The Talisman (1980)

Concept and creative process

Titles for an adaptation of ‘The Talisman’, the novel by Sir Walter Scott. This romance of the days of chivalry has all the power that only Scott could bring to his favourite subject, the Crusades. The titles reflected the period and the chivalry in the choice of type and the incorporation of the knight on horseback, silhouetted against the sunset, as an illustrated motif in the initial capital letters of the titles.
