Concept and creative process
Titles for a series in which David Davies took a look at two people who shared a common interest but who did not always approach their common goal from the same direction. The programme theme was explored visually in the title sequence through two outline profile heads. They were linked together but facing in opposite directions, finally moving face to face with the programme title between them. The artwork was painted on animation cels and filmed top-lit on a rostrum camera. The logo was animated using back-lit artwork and the programme titles were superimposed and animated as a separate exposure over the pre-shot line animation.
