Simple Science (1976)

Concept and creative process

'Simple Science' was a series about science in and around the home. It was fun, as the title music reflects, and the designer, Ray Ogden, took his cue from this and also explored the fun visually through simple animated additions to illustrations of objects that might be found around the home, garden or tool shed. The visual treatment and pace of the title sequence took its cue from the very distinctive and playful sound-track, which had been provided at the outset. The sequence was shot using basic cel animation and rostrum camera moves on artwork drawn by designer Ray Ogden and skilfully edited by Dave Farlie.
