Concept and creative process

Opening titles for a weekly magazine programme for the deaf community with news, views and entertainment, made more accessible with subtitles and sign language. The titles expressed these aims and means in a digitally animated sequence of text captions of the arts, news, education and sport weaving in between screen clips of these areas of focus. These were seen against shots of lip reading and hand signing, which was further emphasised by the introduction of a 3D TV monitor screening more hand signing images which resolved to become the background for the computer-generated logo.
