Rough Guide to Careers (1989)

Concept and creative process

Titles for a series of programmes offering a carousel of dynamic career possibilities from across the UK. The young people were shot individually against green screen performing a variety of different jobs. In post-production appropriate graphic backgrounds were composited into the shots, and they were then panned and layered over one another to create the flowing sequence. The last of the painters to leave the set peeled off part of the painting she had been working on to leave a green strip into which the subtitle of the week’s programme could be inserted.
