Concept and creative process
‘Roots and Water' was featured in the series 'English Poems from other Cultures and Traditions' in the BBC Learning Zone programme strand for secondary schools. The titles, by Clive Harris and John Salisbury, depicted the participating poets in a montage overlaid with texts and the titles, filmed on a rostrum camera through the agitated surface of a water tank by cameraman Colin Hancock. The compositing was done on a Quantel HAL.
