Titles for a 1979 adaptation of Daphne du Maurier's story of romance and suspense, ‘Rebecca’. The burning of the lace handkerchief embroidered with the initial ‘R’ runs in reverse in the title sequence to reveal the embroidery under the main titles, creating a mood of expectation for the story about to unfold.
