Concept and creative process

Opening titles for a topical debate in which guests from the worlds of politics and the media answer questions posed by members of the public. The programme’s ‘Q’ logo was already well established and so for each new series it became the designer’s job to find a different way of using this within the context of introducing the members of the discussion panel to the audience. This sequence used a computer animated version of the logo which preceded and followed the portraits of the guests, inserted live each week from the studio. The style of the coloured borders of the frames was reflected in the hatched ‘Q’ logo behind the final position of the programme title. Animated and composited on a Quantel Harry.
