Plunder (1991)

Concept and creative process

Emma Freud invited her celebrity guest to plunder the film and video vaults for personal memories of past BBC TV moments. The screen was divided into a rhomboid lower half devoted to archive TV clips and ultimately the title logo, keyed over a background of film cans and film leader countdowns. The upper half of the screen displayed images of previous guests on the show and their choices animated in a digital edit to wrap around three sides of the lower rhomboid.
