Titles for a science fiction drama series. There is a highly secret government organisation called Department 7. Its brief is to investigate the supernatural and to discover the Omega Factor. The title sequence distorted photographs of leading actor James Hazeldine as Tom Crane, a journalist with psychic powers. Out-takes of colour negative film were used in the opening montage, overlaid with an animated wave form. The coloured wave form continued animating over high contrast Kodalith negatives, which were backlit and coloured and filmed and distorted through moving ripple glass under the rostrum camera. The same ripple effect was given to the main title to conclude the sequence.
