Titles for a week of special programmes about Africa today, presented by John Craven and Lucy Mathen, who met some of Africa’s people and found out about their lives and problems as the continent moved into the 1980s. The title sequence featured drums and xylophones beating out an urgent newsy rhythm with an outline map of the continent used as a vignette to showcase film clips of the presenters, the politicians of Africa, military parades, wildlife and the natural wonders of the continent.
