The Natural World (1993)

Concept and creative process

BBC Two's classic wildlife series ‘The Natural World’, which tells in-depth stories of incredible animals, featuring award-winning photography in some of the most extraordinary places in the world. The title sequence comprised a live action motion control shoot of a set of a jungle floor in which the camera discovered a pool reflecting the natural world of animals on land, in the sea and in the air. The library clips were composited into the vignette shape of the pool with ripples in the water’s surface creating the transitions between the scenes and also the programme title.
